Fix for to speed up your Mac a litte after upgrading to OS X 10.10 Yosemite

1. Open System Preferences under your Apple menu
2. Click on Accessibility
3. Select Display on the left bar
4. Add a check to Reduce transparency

Turning off transparency for the Dock etc. will give you a slight boost
