Mac Tip - How to Fix your Mac OS X Hardrive - Part Two





How to Recover your Data

 Step 1 

Determine if the disk is dead and Find a way to boot

a  - Recovery partition
         Command – R

b  - Thumb drive with an OS
         diskmakerx

c  - External drive with an OS
        (buy one on Ebay) $16.00 

Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 Bootable USB

Hold down the option Key to select the Thumb Drive

d  - Single user mode
                                  Command (⌘)-S

e  - Zap your PRAM
Option-Command (⌘)-P-R

f - Start-up in safe mode
Hold the shift key on boot

g - Eject any drives

Hold the mouse or trackpad button

Step 2 - Run Disk Utility

Step 3 - Try Recovery Utilities
